What is the 12 Spot™?
The 12 Spot is a place designed specifically for 6-8th grade students — built on and reflecting their lifestyles. It represents the changes that occur throughout the school year. The 12 Spot stays in tune with the fast-paced student life, from changes in the seasons to sports to popular music.
Here, students can spend more time catching up with friends and eating, rather than waiting in line, by offering quick and easy choices. It's about being available — being tasty — being a great deal. The rest of the school day, students spend time in other people's classrooms. But in the middle of the day, it's their time. It's their spot. It's the 12 Spot!
We talked with a large group of students to identify their likes, dislikes and what's important when it comes to school and school dining. We've built a program on what they told us works and what they wanted.
Based on this, the 12 Spot brings the following enhancements to your cafeteria:
- Posters and signage that change with the seasons and reflect student activities
- Walls painted with vibrant colors to create a more energizing environment
- Contemporary food presentation and packaging that make the lines faster
- Easy-to-read menu boards communicating meal choices
And, flavor-packed recipes like overstuffed burritos, Asian items, Blue Macaroni & Cheese, Super Sour Apple Sauce, and much more. What's more, over 60% of our new recipes contain less than 30 calories from fat. So, they're tasty and healthy, all in one!
