New Sustainability News This Semester! New compostable & recyclable sushi containers are now being used at Washoku. Remember, our GreenThread To Go Container Program is always an option. Cool Fun Sustainability Facts! See what we are doing to lower our carbon footprint:
-Our milk is produced from a local farm in Derry, NH. -Trayless dining is available at all dining locations in USDAN and in the Non-Kosher Dining in Sherman. -We offer biodegradable “to go” containers. -We use recycled paper napkins and paper towels -We offer a $.99 coffee refill program. Just bring your travel mug to any on-campus dining location and refuel & refill for $.99 -Bottled water is not sold in the Café or Boulevard. Instead, we have set up hydration stations for you to quench your thirst! -Our cleaning products are all green! Click here to learn more about our Electronically Activated Water Technology.
Destination Green! Brandeis University has launched a new game aimed at increasing sustainability awareness. Each week a new fact is posted that correlates with a trivia question. Students have the chance to enter to win weekly prizes along with a grand prize for each answer submitted. Weekly prizes are $5 gift certificates to EBB and the Grand Prize is a sustainability dinner cooked for 4 by our Executive Chef, Matthew Thompson, in our Faculty Club Dining Room. Come play in USDAN and Sherman…enter to win…and maybe even learn something cool!
Through a collaborative effort of Students, Administrators and Dining, Brandeis will be the site for monthly farmers market featuring many local produce vendors. For more information, click here.

In October 2006, Dining Services introduced locally grown produce in all dining locations. All locally grown produce is labeled and the variety changes daily based on the harvest and season.
